Parish Mission Statement
Saint Martin of Tours is a Roman Catholic Community bound together by the gift of faith in Jesus Christ, as we join Him in offering thanks and praise to God the Father through the abiding presence of the Holy Spirit. Molded by the Word of God and nourished by the Bread of Life and the Cup of Salvation, we are sent to seek out the lost, bind the broken, feed the hungry, and to share the Good News of God’s mercy and love for all. We welcome all people of goodwill to join us in building here on Earth the coming Reign of God and so to offer to people of all ages continued formation in our Christian Faith.
Participation of all our people in leadership, ministries, and programs is our goal. Our parish vision, mission, and goal takes all of us working together.
Parish policies are set by our Pastoral Council in concert with the Commissions of the parish ministries. The Commissions are advisory groups to the Ministry staff. Administration of the parish is the responsibility of the staff, including clergy, religious and laity. The staff’s challenge is to carry out the policies set by the leadership.
The role of the pastor is to, in the name of the Bishop, see that all parish policies and administration are in accord with the Church’s teaching and diocesan policies.
The lay leadership and staff are committed to our mission, vision, structure, and our working together to be Church, CHRIST’S MYSTICAL BODY. Jesus offers us himself as an intimate place we can call home where we can gather to be and to celebrate as his family. Christ’s love, living in us, l empowers us to give life to others.
