Towards A Parish Pastoral Plan

Dear Parishioners and Friends,

An old proverb says, ‘A vision without a plan is just a dream. A plan without a vision is just drudgery…but a vision with a plan can change the world.’

I feel blessed to be part of a community that lives and celebrates the mission of Christ with great vision in the Valley. The vision and mission of this parish will not change; to do so would be unfaithful to whom we are.  However, if we do not have a plan on how to achieve it in the changing demographic of the parish, we will likely falter.

With the above realization in mind, the Pastoral Council, staff members and other leadership teams embarked on a planning process for our parish that outlines our goals and objectives for the coming years. The Pastoral Council conducted extensive interviews of ministries. We received very valuable input. Each ministry and teams’ insights were taken into consideration in formulating the priority plan. This plan will embrace different aspects of parish life and will help us to continue where we are strong and strengthen areas requiring growth.

Last week, in a joint meeting of the Pastoral and Finance Council, the parish priority plan was approved. Pastoral Council is working on refining the document before it will be published to the entire community and rolled out.

This will be the guiding document for pastor and parish staff in their work. It will also guide different councils (Pastoral, Finance, and Spirituality) and committees in their discernment and decisions.

We have so much going for us and we continue to receive God’s grace in abundance to make it happen. Thank you for your commitment to the parish. May we always remember that when we are in the same boat rowing together with the Spirit, we will go far!

May God bless you and your family abundantly.

With love,

Fr. Saju Joseph
